Villa Sol is a three-storey cream villa on the upper slopes, backed by fynbos and the Twelve Apostles, with curved steel-and-glass balustrades wrapping every level. Turn one way and Lion's Head stands over the whole Camps Bay bowl and the beach; turn the other and the mountain drops away to open Atlantic. Terracotta tiles underfoot, navy tub chairs and small round tables make each balcony a place to sit rather than an ornament.
The pool is blue-tiled with curved steps, ringed by tiled paving and screened by banana palms and strelitzia. Beside it a covered patio has cream loungers and a wall-mounted television, and there is a second, smaller pool on the level below.
Terracotta floors and exposed dark beams give the interiors a warm, lived-in feel. The main lounge has white sofas, a glass coffee table, patterned rugs and a large television, with sliding doors onto the balcony. A separate sitting room holds white moulded swivel chairs around a low black table. Downstairs there is a fireplace, a cream modular sofa, a glass dining table with dark leather chairs and a zebra-print ottoman.
The kitchen is dark stained timber with granite tops, a stainless double-door fridge, wall ovens and a coffee machine over a slate-tiled floor. The bedroom that gets the best of the outlook has a white bed on a magenta base, striped cushions and a glass-walled corner with sliding doors onto its own terrace, Lion's Head and the sea straight ahead. Air conditioning is fitted on every level.
